Transmission and Clutch

Vehicle Information: Year: 1990/1975; Body Type: Targa; Total Mileage: 75000;

I recently purchased a 1990 C2 motor and transmission for use in a 1975 914. I currently own an '81 911 SC and am "underwhelmed" to say the least with the 915 trans., which I know would be the better fit for my conversion. The G-50 transmission I received in the purchase is a "long bellhousing" type and appears to simply be too long to work in this application. I had intended to continue using the "problematic" dual mass flywheel to avoid the stalling problems that plague the single mass conversions and was wondering: A) In what cars were the short G-50's (and long G-50's)used, and if I obtain a short bellhousing G-50, will the dual mass work? I've contacted Patrick Motorsports several times and can't seem to get a response from them. Given that I really want to use the G-50 if possible, what would you suggest overall?
