G50 transmission types

Vehicle Information: Model: 914&C2; Year: 1975; Body Type: Targa; Total Mileage: 75000;

I didn't quite know in which category to ask this question. I hope you have some insights.I recently purchased a 1990 C2 motor and transmission for use in a 1975 914. Icurrently own an '81 911 SC and am "underwhelmed" to say the least with the 915trans., which I know would be the better fit for my conversion. The G-50transmission I received in the purchase is a "long bellhousing" type and appearsto simply be too long to work in this application. I had intended to continueusing the "problematic" dual mass flywheel to avoid the stalling problems thatplague the single mass conversions and was wondering: A) In what cars were theshort G-50's (and long G-50's)used, and if I obtain a short bellhousing G-50,will the dual mass work? I've contacted Patrick Motorsports several times andcan't seem to get a response from them. Given that I really want to use theG-50 if possible, what would you suggest overall?
