Gasket, 356A Fuel Pump Dome, cork

Fuel System

Vehicle Information: Model: 356A; Year: 59; Body Type: Coupe; Engine (type, size, modifications): 1600S; Total Mileage: 150000;

I started my 1959 356A after it sat for 1 year, and I need to renew the cork fuel pump dome 4 mm gasket. The pump was weeping after starting and I kept tighting the bolt, a bit at a time until the leak stopped in about an hour (gasket swelled a tad). After about 100 miles, it is now weeping again. The bolt is too snug to tighten any more with out distorting the dome.Question, what is the best way to get a new gasket, with out buying a new $50+ rebuilt kit?The last time I made my own gasket, the cork I used released small chunks of cork into the fuel line to the carb and plugged one of the jets. I have two old gaskets to play with if you could suggest some "goop" to coat the gasket with to make it seal?
