Hard starting

Model: 911 Carrera, Year:1985, Mileage:178K, Type of use:Street use only
Engine cranks strong, but doesn't fire immediately. It runs just fine after starting, but the longer you run it the longer it has to crank before it restarts. After 3 or 4 stops on a trip it is scary as to whether it is going to start or not. After setting for 20 to 30 minutes, it is back to starting after a few cranks. They have tried a fuel pump, crank sensors, air temp sensor, and ignition relay without success.Car has 178,000 miles, but engine has about 8,000 on a total professional ($11,000) rebuild.
