Hazard Light Relay and Directional Lights

Vehicle Information: Model: 911 T Targa; Year: 1971; Body Type: Targa; Engine (type, size, modifications): original; Total Mileage: unknown;

Ed,The mystery of the non-functioning hazard lights and directional lights has finally been solved. As it turns out, after hours of chasing wires, the factory replacement for the hazard relay is not correct. I bought a new hazard light relay and that didn't corrrect issue. Replaced that with another one and no change. Replaced the hazard light switch itself with three different one, no change. Changed column turn signal lever, no change. Called Porsche dealer and checked part number on hazard relay, corret part, but still didn't work. Pulled out a relay from an older car and plugged it in, all turn signals and hazard lights work. Apparently, the replacement part is not the correct one for the 1971. Not sure if you have run into this before or not, but I thought I would share this with you.Ron
