High altitude performance upgrades

Vehicle Information: Year: 1990; Body Type: Coupe; Engine (type, size, modifications): 3.6 C4; Total Mileage: 61,500;

I live in Keystone Co. at 9,300'. I just had my 60,000 mile service and am told the car is in exceptionally good shape. My mechanic believes the car has a new chip in it but wasn't certain what brand, other than that, the car is stock to my knowledge.Performance at this altitude is mediocre at best -it just isn't a Porsche up here as far as acceleration and general performance goes.My mechanic is not aware of any specific upgrades that would make a noticable difference but I am sure there must be something I could do. He has even recommended replacing the chip with the original factory chip.Performance products catalog lists several upgrades (performance throttle body, exhaust, chip, and more) for about $4500 parts only. Is this worth it? At sea level the car is a beast and performs exceptionally well. I want it to perform the same way up here. Will I notice any difference at all and will any such upgrades cause excessive wear on the car? Am I asking and hoping for too much?
