Heating and Ventilation

Vehicle Information: Year: 1987; Engine (size, modifications): 5.0; Total Mileage: 87000; Transmission type: Manual;

These were suggestions by others for 134a conversion. I replaced receiver dryer, 2 expansion valve, all the O rings (green) compatible with 134a, retrofit the low and high side valves and drain the old oil.While the a/c positioning the HVAC slider to the rectangular icon I get some warm air entering the center vent, air from door vents is not as cold as center vent, no air from the floor and no air above the dash to windshield. When I have the HVAC controls position any place else I do not get any warm air mix with cold. While its very hot days here in Chicago my a/c does not cool the car very well. I returned to my mechanic and he told me there might be a problem with HVAC control or vacuum actuators. He could not be sure until he takes a look at it. I opt not leave the car again for fear of another large bill. I have spent a lot of time converting my car for the retrofit and yet not satisfied with its cooling performance.Can you kindly give suggestions to my problem? Thanks
