Identifying A calipers

Brakes

Vehicle Information: Model: 911T; Year: 1973; Body Type: Targa; Engine (type, size, modifications): 2.7 RS; Total Mileage: 220,000 ish;

I me doing a brake upgrade on my '73. It came with M calipers front and rear. I have purchased a set of used front struts with tha larger bolt spacing and A calipers. I have read about the changes in the A calipers after '83. I thought I would just change out the calipers and struts and keep my front rotors (20mm thk). Me car is being painted right now so I cannot compair the opening in the calipers for the rotors. Can you tell me the mesurement of the gap in the caliper to accommodate the rotor. I know the gap in the later A calipers are 4mm wider, but wider then what?Thanks, Greg
