I recently began to have trouble turning the key when inserted into the ignition. I can get it to turn after many attempts but I'm afraid that if the switch is failing, I might get stuck somewhere. Does this sound like a complete replacement of the switch mechanism is in order or is there a simple fix ? It seems that the parts alone for a complete replacement will be $700-$800 plus the labor and I'd like to do a fix rather than a replacement.
