Ignition Coil Question

Model: 911, Year:1978, Mileage:107000, Type of use:Street use only
I have a 78' SC that I purchased two years ago. After owning the car for about 6 months I went to start the car and it wouldn't start, turned out to be a faulty coil which I replaced. Having driven the car for another, under 2K miles, I was on a trip, when returning home speeding down the highway at 75mph the engine suddenly stop, there was no warning or rough running prior to it stopping. I needed a tow, thank god I was close to home. It turned out to be the replaced coil(Brazilian), I used that coil almost to the day for just one year. I have owned several 911's over the years and have never had coil problems. Once the coil was replaced my engine runs great, good gas mileage, performance, and no missing up to redline. The question I have is something going with my CD box? Or did I just get a bum coil, you can bet I will have a spare coil in the car from now on. Any thoughts on the CD box? Thanks
