I will perform a tune-up for the first time on this car. The previous owner kept few records so I dont know when the spark plug wires were last done. Non OEM are reasonable in price but from previous tech answers dont last as long or fit as well. If there are now ones available that are OEM like please let me know as the OEMs are $600.00 plus. I figure Ill drive until they get bad. From previous auto experience the engine will immediately just start to miss a lot. If Im 500 miles from home, its going to be rough. How will I know when the wires are getting bad? Are there any telltale signs? If I check each wire with an ohm meter what kind of readings should I be getting for normal operation vs wires needing to be replaced soon? Is there any procedure that can help me predict with 80% to 90% certainty the wires will fail within say 5,000 miles?
