Model: 996, Year:2002, Mileage:58,000, Type of use:Street use only
I am considering the 2002 911, with 58,000 miles, asking price is $27,000. - in my PPI how can the Porsche Dealership determine whether this car:a. has a rebuilt or replacement engineb. has an IMS Bearing issue CURRENTLY or PASTc. do you recommend the LN Engineering Kit, if so which one, as d. preventative measure?e. the current owner (#3) states he does not have the full records on this vehicle and has owned it a year.I recently LOST a collector's 1986 928 S due to a mechanic's failure to install a water pump at the time of the timing belt change. I cannot afford financially nor psychologically the potential for losing another Porsche. I am not a mechanic, I am learning/ reading diligently, I am dependent upon the mechanics to do their job, and for me to do my due diligence prior to potential purchase. I need some guidance ....Any / all suggestions you have will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.Christian P. Wagner III 305 - 496 - 3684
