Installing an aftermarket mp3 player in 996

Electrical and Electronic

Vehicle Information: Year: 1999; Body Type: Convertible; Total Mileage: 26,000;

I would like to install an aftermarket mp3 player, in the dash if possible. Regardless of whether the unit is in-dash or in the trunk, is it possible to feed the output of the player into an aux input in the receiver? I have the single CD player (CDR210) that came with the vehicle. What type of wiring would be required? If the unit is installed in the trunk, is there a wiring harness already installed (that would normally be used with the six CD changer) or would this need to be added also? For the audio signal, does the receiver have an RCA or other type of input jack? Or is a new receiver required? And it it possible to get documentation, such as wiring diagrams or pin-outs?Finally, do you have any recommendations for a particular brand?Many thanks...
