Installing torsion bars in 1972 911

Suspension

Vehicle Information: Model: 911; Year: 1972; Body Type: Coupe; Engine (type, size, modifications): 2.4 mechanical fuel pump #6202169; Total Mileage: ometer 68,000????;

I removed the torsion bars and now must re-install. The bars are marked left and right. I need to know which end goes into the adjustment arm. Do you use the end that is marked L or R with an arrow, or the end that is not marked? The torsion bars had some rust on them. I cleaned them and treaded with antirust and repainted them. I would like to know your opinion on how safe these torsion bars are. Should I replace them or are they still usable?
