First of all, I just want to thank you again as youhave been so helpful in the past to me and others. The alarm on my '97 993 Cab goes off intermittently. It all started immediately after my last mechanic visit. He installed the ROW M030 sport suspension, completed an oil change, worked on a sticking clutch pedal, and cleaned engine bay. The hood was left open for a period of days as he worked on the suspension setup. When I picked up the car everything was fine, I just had to reenter the radio code (apparently the battery went dead and had been recharged at the shop). Since then, the alarm will go off intermittently. I took it back to my mechanic and we checked and reechecked all of the doors, trunk, and engine compartment lid to ensure that they were closed all the way. Then we unplugged and reconnected the sensor below the rear engine bay latch (I thought it might have collected moisture during the engine bay cleaning). The problem has since returned with a vengeance. The alarm went off 3 times within a half hour 3 days ago. Then it went off again 3 times this morning at 5AM (read myneighbors love me). Other than the intermittent alarm, everything works fine. The car unlocks and the immobilizer works. When I leave the car unlocked, the alarm rearms itself and the doors lock automatically after 20-30 secounds or so. I have read all of the posts on the alarm system and wanted to see if there was anything else I could check before I take it to the dealer. Is there a wire or sensor that may have been disturbed or disconnected during the recent service at my independent mechanic? Please help...
