Model: Carrera 4S, Year:2004, Mileage:18,000, Type of use:Street use only. I have been having some intermittent starting problems with my 2004 Carrea 4S. The problem happens both when the engine is hot or cold. Sometimes the engine will crank and start immediately. Sometimes the engine will not crank and start until the oil level check has timed out. Sometimes the engine will not crank and start at all. Have to turn the ignition on and off multiple times, remove key, lock and unlock doors, etc. until it finally decides to start. Does not seem like there is a specific action that finally gets it going. Other than this issue vehicle runs great, battery is only a couple of years old and in good condition. I read some of the other questions/answers; does this sound like a clutch switch issue or some kind of immobilizer problem? Solution-Replacing the clutch switch resolved the problem. When the old clutch switch was checked with an ohm meter it was variable and erratic. Thanks Mark Vander Eyk [SEM]
