Intermittent Starting

Electrical

Vehicle Information: Year: 1985; Engine (size, modifications): V8 4c 32V 5.0; Total Mileage: 62,000; Transmission type: Manual;

I have had intermittent starting problems for the last year. It is not getting fuel to the injectors. The fuel pressure gauge I installed reads 0? So, I have checked and replaced the fuel pump relay, no change. I have checked to see if the fuel pump is getting 12 volts, it is. So before I would replace the fuel pump, I checked the contacts and they were very corroded, I cleaned them off and put them back on and it started up immediately! 2 days later the same thing, no start, it cranks like it wants to start but no gas to the injectors. I borrowed the fuel injector brain LH from a friends running 928 and no change! The only other thing I can say that is consistent every time it won't start is a ticking noise that sounds like it is coming from the right hand dash area?? Don't know what is in that area, but if I put the key in the ignition and turn it on, without starting the car and I here this ticking noise and I know the car will not start. If I do not here this noise it will always start?Please help; I think I have checked everything. This is a low mileage 928s in excellent condition. It is driving me crazy!
