I've just refitted the engine and gearbox post-engine overhaul, and replaced my gearbox oil before installation. It is now venting oil from the top, and I'm assuming its coming from the breather which I used to fill it because the oil is tracking down from above the output shafts. I thought I must have overfilled so I took the fill plug back out and a little oil drained out. Tightened everything back up again and took it for another spin, but the gearbox is still venting quite a lot of oil. Are there any valves or seals on the vent that can go bad, or will this just find its own equalibrium?
