Malhe Pistons and Cylinders

Model: 911S, Year:1970, Mileage:80,000, Type of use:Street use only
Im about to rebuild my 70, 2.2 911S motor and in doing some reading and research I have found my set of Malhe pistons but I have noticed a design change in the cylinders, the originals have a cut in them at the 12 and 6 oclock positions, about 3 or 4mm wide, the top being different from the bottom. But Ill be honest I havent measured them yet. My question is to only confirm that only Malhe pistons were used in the S's? And I know that by using modern pistons and cylinders its not completely the original engine, but I would like to restore the original look for anyone that would take the to look, was there a design change that removed those channels I see through the cooling fins of the cylinders? Is it just very detailed of me to want to have the original look of every part of this engine to be correct? I could give you reference to the page number in the manual but I dont know it off the top of my head, but it also shows the channel or grove Im talking about. I could also send you pictures if that would help.
