Mountain driving during break-in

After reading the iManual break-in instructions, I do have a couple questions.  We are planning a trip to the Smoky mountains in a new Boxster, and might arrive there with only 400-500 miles on the car.  Would it be good for the car to go on drives such as the Blue Ridge Parkway where the car would be going up and down hills that each gain as much as 4,000 ft elevation?  I understand from the break in instructions that I should go up hills staying within a range of 2,000 to 4,000 rpm.  Would this really be good for the new engine, or should I wait till after the break-in period?

I am also interested in opinions of whether an oil and filter change after break in is really a good idea.
