Nitriding a Crankshaft - Material Question

Vehicle Information: Model: 356; Year: 1961; Body Type: Coupe; Engine (type, size, modifications): Super 90; Total Mileage: Unkown;

After having my Super 90 crankshaft ground at the machine shop, it should be (re)nitrided to harden the bearing surfaces. My problem is that the company willing to nitride the crank asked me what exactly is the material the crank is made of (this is needed to set the correct temperature in the process). I have looked high and low for this information with no luck. Any idea?
