Model: 993, Year:1996, Mileage:57,xxx, Type of use:Street use only
The odometer on my 1996 993 failed recently, and my Porsche service provider replaced the entire speedomter head to resolve the problem. The mileage was "stuck" at around 57k when the odometer stopped working. When I picked the car up I noticed that the odometer read "2" miles. When I questioned this, I was told these units are sealed (and I can understand why that would be necessary), but how do I demonstrate that the mileage on this car is 57,xxx, rather than something much more? The dealer is also looking into this, but I expect this has occurred before and there may be a simple answer, hopefully. Thanks.
