OK Joel, now I'm getting paranoid myself. Reading this forum (and many other sources) I worry about the IMS failure problem like others do. I just got this car going on a month now and it's running fine with 42,000 miles, I thought I'd wait to hit the 60,000 mile mark before doing the LN bearing repair and now wonder. Is there a reliable number of IMS failure cases on the 996 (percentage wise) which could be used by this model owners in order to make a more informed decision? A $2,500 upgrade is still a bit steep for some of us, granted a lot better than say 20 to $30k. Assuming the upgrade goes twenty five hundred.
