oil and seal and spark

Model: 996, Year:1999, Mileage:135000, Type of use:Both Street & Track
After some intensive autocrossing, my '99 996 Cab has started to leak. I cleaned everything up and it is coming from the #1 plug.Per the manual, it might be the oil protection tube; however, it really looks like a lip seal "Pelican Parts" calls the Spark Plug Oil Seal #996-104-203-00-M30.How is this thing replaced? Are there any tricks? I assume that if it can be done in the car that the left exhaust has to come off. Thanks, Peter
