Oil capacity

Engine

Vehicle Information: Year: 2004; Engine (type, size, modifications): 3.2l; Total Mileage: 3,000; Transmission: Manual;

I recently had a post break-in period (2,000 + miles) oil change. When I read the electronic oil-level indicator on the dash it registered over the fill line. I checked the dipstick and it showed over full too. Finally, I checked the invoice from the dealer and it showed that I was charged for 10 qts. of oil.The manual lists oil capacity as 8.5 qts. , so I called the dealer about this. The service manager advised that although the manual lists 8.5 qts, the fully charged system actually holds 10 qts., so thats what they put in.Is this correct? Is there or can there be any problems with putting this much oil into the car? I am concerned about over-pressurizing the oil system.Thanks for you reply.
