Oil leak after change to synthetic oil

Engine

Vehicle Information: Year: 1979; Body Type: Targa;

I recently purchased a nice '79 911 SC and being a long-time user of Mobil 1 I decided to use it in the '79 at my first oil change. The car has about 120K miles on the clock, though it had some upper end work done to it several years ago by a previous owner. The car was quite dry underneath when I bought it except for a slight leak from the lower left cam cover which is not the turbo style. After the oil change, however, that leak increased and several others seem to have developed. My question is this: if I switch back to dino oil now can I expect the leaks to subside, or have I done too much damage to the seals already?
