Oil Leaks

Vehicle Information: Model: 964; Year: 1992; Body Type: Convertible; Engine (type, size, modifications): 3.6 Stock; Total Mileage: 58,000;

Thank You for your continued expert support on technical issues.I recently took my car to the shop due to oil residue showing up on my rear deck lid after use. Shop checked for oil leaks and indicated the following: "Motor wash to check oil leaks-bell housing area, rear main seal, P/S pump console, other seals wet but not dripping, engine needs reseal." Shop has recommended that the rear main seal and possibly other seals be replaced. It is my understanding that the engine and trans. will need to be pulled in order to complete this work. From a prevenative maintence standpoint, what else should be replaced or evaluated. My understanding is that the cluch components can be inspected and that the P/S belt could be replaced alog with other seals. Any other recommendations based on what is known regarding the wear points in the engine/trans. of this vintage Porsche. Car runs fine and has been maintained per the factory based on the records obtained at the time of purchase with the exception of no record for an oil change between 17,000 and 33,000 miles (potentially 16,000 w/o an oil change).Any harm in continuing to drive the car with the oil leak and watching it carefully. I have also been told that you could run the risk of getting oil into the cluch and causing slippage.Your expert advice is most appreciated.All the Best
