Oil Pick-up Screen

Engine

Model: 911S, Year:1972, Mileage:73934, Type of use:Street use only
I just changed the oil for the first time since I bought the car and was surprised to see that the oil pick-up screen does not appear to be removable as shown in the parts book. In checking the engine rebuild list, I see that the oil pump was replaced and it is listed as a 91110700805 and a new sump plate is noted for a 3.2 oil pump. My sump plate does not have a drain plug. I drained the engine oil by removing the sump plate, and by the way the screen was clean as a whistle, at least on the outside. Assuming that my oil pump and sump plate has been upgraded to a 3.2 unit, can the oil screen be removed from the outside? Is it possibly screwed on or slid on to a housing inside?
