Outside temperature reading

Electrical and Electronic

Vehicle Information: Model: 911; Year: 1992; Body Type: Coupe; Engine (type, size, modifications): 3.6; Total Mileage: 68,000;

After having body repair work done (a close encounter with a falling tree limb) I'm getting an incorrect reading for the outside temperature. My in-dash temp is showing a constant -40 F, which obviously is incorrect. I've never had any problems with any of the car's instrumentation before. Does this mean the temperature sensor, whereever it is, was reinstalled improperly? If so, is there an easy fix or does it require a visit to my mechanic?
