Vehicle Information: Model: 911; Year: 1974; Body Type: Targa; Total Mileage: 48,000;

split case, took apart engine to fix oil leaks. when i went to porsche training for engines in 1974 the instrusctor tought us to install the pistons on the rods, then you compress the rings and slide the cylinder over the pistons. today, some recommend installing the piston in the cylinder first then installing the pin and clip ( seems more difficult to me ). what method do you prefer? also, old movies from the factory show engines being assembled with the method that i was tought in the 70's.thank youmichael
