Joel, I am happy that I may be able to contribute instead of just read and ask questions. This one references the polarized windshield issue. It is easy to check. Sit in the car wearing a pair of polarized sunglasses. Tilt your head from one shoulder to the other and observe whether what you are seeing gets darker. This would pertain to the dashboard (glass or LEDs) as well as through the windshield. The simplified science is that polarizers block light selectively by meridian. Crossing 2 polarized lenses at 90 degrees results in zero light transmittance with varying amounts of transmittance at other orientations. Hope this helps and THANKS for your responses. -leo
