Possible battery change issues

Getting ready to put a new battery in my 2014 Cayman S. Two questions. Number one, if I just replace a battery without backing up the electrical system in any way, what settings will I lose in my car or any other issues that will be created by doing this?
Question number two, if I use a smartphone backup battery connected to an Android charging power cable, and it is connected to an adapter and fitted into the charging port in my center console, will this suffice for backing up my electrical system and not losing any of the presets? Or will this cause a problem trying to backup the electrical system for a battery change in this manner?

Thank you very much in advance for your kind advice!

Aloha, David
