After reading your response about a dead battery I am questioning a feature I like about my car. Currently, with the car off and the key removed my power windows are operable when the doors are open. They are not if the doors are shut. I have grown to like this feature for opening the top before a ride or airing out the car in the garage. But it sounds like this was not and actual "feature" on the car, but a sticking relay. Can you elaborate further? Where is the relay? In the three years of ownership I have not had a problem with the battery going dead. Other than a parasitic battery draw, is there a reason I should not leave it this way for my own convenience?
