After a long, hot day's drive last week from Monterey, CA to Portland, OR, the traffic crawled to stop & go for about a mile due to construction. The car had run great all day, I pulled of at the next ramp to take an alternate route & to refuel. After refuelling- the car would not start. No click, as if no power to starter solenoid, etc. Jump starting didn't work-still no click. The gas attendant offered to push start which did work. I then drove home the last 10 miles, turned off the car & attempted to restart. It did start again & has effortlessly through the weekend.Notes- 1st day as new owner. Purchased the car from a PCA member in Monterey. Had a very good report on the pre-purchase inspection from a local Porsche garage just the day before. One of the items on the short list was re battery corrosion near the battery base- to be neutralized mw/baking soda.I had spoken to the old owner & he had not experinced this problem.According to the rercords, quite well documented, the battery was last changed 11.09.2004. The car still has the old alternator.Thank you in advance for your attetion,Sincerely,Alex Cruz
