Refinishing 18" Sport Classic II wheels on 1998 C2S
Vehicle Information: Model: 1998; Year: 911 Carrera S; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 17500;
I have the 18" Sport Classic II wheels on my 1998 C2S. I have a scrape on the outer ring of the right rear wheel which most likely was put there by a curb. The damage is about 3 inches long and 1 inch wide. Also the damage is right through the clearcoat and right down into the metal of the wheel. Is this be something that can be fixed or do I need to replace the wheel? And if it is fixed, will the repaired wheel be visually different than the factory finished front wheel? I have gotten conflicting reports on the machinability of the outer ring on this particular wheel. As well, does this much damage to a wheel usually mean the the wheel is no longer straight and is not worth fixing anyways?
