Removing door dings

Paint

Vehicle Information: Model: 911 Carrera; Year: 1985; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 45000 miles;

I have an 85 Carrera, with a couple of door dings on the driver's side door. One is in the middle of the door panel, the other under the door handle, close to the edge of the door. The latter doesn't seem to be accessible from the back, it is in line with the weld area of the door edge wrap-around.The dings are minor, but with the black paint they seem to stand right out. The metal does not appear to be creased, and the paint surface is not cracked. Questions:- Is it possible to "hammer out" (or by any other process) both of the dings from the other side of the panel without damaging the finishes and having to repaint the door?- What is the level of success using this (these) methods? Will the areas of repair still be noticeable afterward?
