Removing Old Paint Protection Film

Vehicle Information: Model: 993; Year: 1995; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 13000;

John- Help! Because the originals were scratched so badly by the previous owner, I am trying to replace the OEM clear protective film on the "hips" just forward of the rear wheels. Because of the age, this stuff does not want to come off. I have applied heat lamp, hair dryer, 3M adhesive remover and the stuff just wants to come off in very small chips. Do you know of any reasonably effective method w/o damaging the paint? Will a body shop eraser wheel (as used to remove decals)work? Plasic razor blades? Any solvent besides the 3M adhesive remover? The way I'm going, it will take 1 week per side!
