Replacing "Carrera" emblem on 996 rear deck lid

Vehicle Information: Model: 996 C2 Coupe; Year: 2001; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 9900;

I have seen some Original Porsche Emblems in the Performance Products catalog that are apparently designed to replace the rear deck lid Carrera emblem that came on my 2001 Carrera 2 Coupe. There are two I am potentially interested in, a silver Carrera emblem (my original one is black, which doesnt show up well on my black paint), which is their part number 911705, and a chrome 911 emblem, their part number 911704. The catalog says that these emblems have self-adhesive backs so that fasteners are not needed. My questions are as follows: 1. Have you ever changed these emblems out? Are the original emblems glued on or fastened through the decklid? (Mine appears to be glued). 2. If the original emblem is glued onto the body, how do you get it off without hurting the paint? Is the adhesive on the new (replacement) emblem reliable, or will it cause harm and/or partially or completely release with time. 3. Is this job one I should reserve for a professional or can I do it myself? (I normally change my own oil, shocks, filters, rotate tires, install frame mounted trailer hitches, and do other routine maintenance on all of my vehicles, but I am not a body expert). Since the replacement emblem is only $24.95-$29.95, I dont want to end up spending a fortune now or later repairing my decklid for a relatively minor (albeit desired) cosmetic change of the emblem. I have asked the guys at Performance Products these same questions and they havent been any help.
