Response to Air Conditioner Fogging the Widshield

Heating and Ventilation

Vehicle Information: Model : Carrera; Year: 2007; Mileage: 9500;

In response to the questions about AC fogging the outside of the windshield in Florida, this is happening for 2 reasons: 1. It is usually humid in Florida, 2. when the AC is in "Auto" mode, it blows cold air from all 3 sets of vents, floor, dash, AND defroster (windshield). The AC air is cooling the windshield enough to cause condensation on the outside, just like on a cold beer can. The simple solution is to turn off the windshield vents (and probably the floor vents too) when operating the AC. BTW, my 2000 Boxter S did this and my 2007 Carrera does too. I'm betting all 996/86 and 997/87 models do the same thing.
