Roughness of ride

Model: 968, Year:1992, Mileage:150,00, Type of use:Street use only
Hi,I'm trying to refurbish a Porsche 968 (1992) that I bought. I like the car very much, but am troubled a bit by some things. The ride is really rough. Any small bump, and the whole car is jarred from it. The ride is also loud. As this is my first Porsche, I don't know if this is normal or if I should get the suspension checked and would like to know what you think. My second question is that the rear hatch doesn't seem to be sealing well. There is a great deal of noise that also comes through the rear hatch. Additionally, I can reach through and touch the rubber gasket that seals the hatch. When I bought the car, I found water in the right wheel well and the spare tire storage area and am wondering if that might be related. Is there a way to adjust how the rear hatch seals or is there something else I can check? This car was raced, but I don't intend to do that to it. I plan on giving it a nice, comfortable retirement, ala Seattle Slew. Thanks for your help.Monte Olsen
