RPM fluctuation

1995 993 with 106,000 miles. Yes, just getting broken in @ 106K miles. Same (2nd) owner since it had 12K miles. At different speeds, in different gears, when I increase the throttle a reasonable amount (i.e., not flooring it) the RPMs will momentarily jump by 500-100, without a comparable surge in speed or power, and then settle back down. It's not exactly a "hesitation," because there's no perceptible pause or loss of power; just a brief, wierd RPM spike.
