Car Purchase

Vehicle Information: Model: RS America; Year: 1993; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 55,000;

I am looking at several RS Americas to buy. My use will be mostly for DE weekends, but some street time. Some that I am looking at have higher mileage and no track time, others lower miles but lots of DE weekends. I am inclined to buy one with lower mileage with some upgrade mods aready installed (muffler bypass, chip, suspension improvement, roll bar, etc). Of course price is an issue, but for the cars that have been driven hard at the DE's,is there anything special to cover in the prepurchase inspection? Or do you think buying a higher milage completeley stock car and and then doing the mods myself will give me a car that will have fewer problems in the long run?Thanks for your thoughts.
