Seat with seat ventilation option for Carrera

Model: 3.2 Carrera, Year:1987, Mileage:154100, Type of use:Street use only
I have read some good reviews regarding ventilated seats and since I live in a hot climate I am interested in possibly installing a late-model standard seat with optional seat ventilation in my 1987 Porsche 911. My car has a black interior and power left seat. I have a couple questions: When did Porsche start offering the ventilated seat option? Was the option restricted to certain models? I understand that the seat rail design changed considerably with the 996. What are my options for mounting a later model seat? Are there any particular issues with hooking up the power to the seat? Do you know of any particular difficulties with installing late-model seats in a car of my vintage? Finally, would a matching late-model passenger-side seat also require power or are manual seats offered? Thanks.
