shifting issues in cold weather prior to warming up

Transmission and Clutch

Model: 911 cabriolet, Year:1995, Mileage:68000, Type of use:Street use only
My 1995 993 C2 6 speed manual is difficult to shift when the outdoor temperature is cold. (any colder 10 degrees above freezing) I live in Edmonton, Alberta Canada and early spring and late fall we get very cold at night. Once the car is driven a few minutes everything normalizes. In the summer months where the temperature stays warm, I don't seem to have a problem. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I'm planning on changing transmission fluid as I am not sure what is in there now and thought maybe there might be a more appropriate oil for colder weather climates.
