Does my 1981 911 SC have a switch on the clutch that prevents the car from starting unless the clutch is depressed. If yes where is it? I had been having intermittent problems starting where i would sometimes have to turn the key to start several times before the starter would catch. At the same time I was pushing the clutch in each time. At the time I assumed that the clutch switch was not making good contact. Last week the key woujld not work to start the car. Everything else comes on but the starter will not go. I could find nothing in the owners Manual about the clutch having to be in to start so I assumed it was the switch. I replaced the ignition switch but still not starter. Starter works if I jump the two terminals on the plug. Do not know what else to check. Help.
