i have found that many times i have to hold the key in the start position for many seconds, sometimes about ten seconds before the engine starts cranking. it starts right away after it starts cranking. problem is, oftentimes, not always, it just doesn't crank right away. i have clutch fully depressed during the starting procedure and have other foot on the brake also. i asked a related question a few months ago and i discovered that the most reliable way of starting the car was to keep the clutch pedal fully depressed, other foot on brake, and keep key in start position and just wait (for a few seconds) until it cranks. what could be the problem?
