tach problem

Vehicle Information: Model: 911T; Year: 1971; Body Type: Coupe; Engine (type, size, modifications): stock; Total Mileage: 46,000;

Ed, I havd this exact same problem and I pulled the tach and the ground wire was off. An easy FIX! My bright indicator light was also backwards and it also fixed that problem. THANKS, BobbyI recently purchased my 1971 911T. The tachometer works fine until I turn on my headlights. Then the tachometer needle falls to much lower values. The error is even greater when I switch to bright lights.
