tach wire

Model: 911S, Year:1977, Mileage:?, Type of use:Street use only
Chris thanks for the previous response: engine wiring911 SC, 3.0 and 2.7 | Electrical Model: 911S, Year:1977, Mileage:?, Type of use:Street use onlyI am looking for a diagram of the main wiring connector for the engine wiring harness. The one that plugs into the fuse box on the left side of the engine compartment. I'd like to know what each pin connects to. Do you have a diagram available? Thanks much.Wayne Hicks [INW]11/20/2009 9:39:05 AMAnswerThere is no diagram, as the wiring for those years is shown in the current flow style. Here is a list, by number. Not all pins are used: 1-large yellow (starter solenoid), 2-brown/white, 3-green/black (oil temp), 4-green/red (oil press), 7-blue/yellow, 8-green, 9-green/white, 10-brown/white (warm up regulator), 11-aqua (alt D+), 12-black/purple (tach), 13-black/yellow (heater blower), 14-large red (battery positive).Your answer above helped a great deal. However my wiring must be different. Your info shows pin 12 for the tach. Mine doesn't have a pin in the number 12 location.Even though a 1977, my car was manufactured in Dec of 1976. Could that make a difference? What pin wires the tach if there is no #12?ThanksWayne
