tail light housing screw stripped

Electrical and Electronic

Vehicle Information: Model: 911 Carrera; Year: 1987; Body Type: Coupe; Engine (type, size, modifications): 3.2 H6; Total Mileage: 95700;

I tried to replace my taillight seals. Carefully removed the lens covers, which really took a lot of care, they were pretty sticky. Then realized I'd have to remove the complete taillight assembly to replace the seals. I tried to remove the assembly, but the two bolts that anchor the housing do not come out!!! They turned very slowly at first and then started to make a clicking and popping sound. I think I stripped the fastener clip on the back side. After several attempts on the right side, I moved to the left light. The same on the inside bolt. The outside left bolt was finally one that slowly came out. I have not been able to remove the lightbox because the inside bolt is stripped. I do not want to drill out the bolts without the replacement parts ready. Where would I find replacement fasteners, clips and bolts? I have only a tiny schematic drawing of the taillight assembly without part numbers for fastener and bolts. Do you have part numbers? Will a Porsche dealer parts department be able to order these, or do I need to go for a generic replacement?Any ideas? Advice?Thanks!Dietmar
