Throttle Cable

Cables and Controls

Vehicle Information: Model (914/4, 914/6): 914/4; Year: 1974; Engine (type, size, modifications): 2.0; Total Mileage: 103000;

I have a 2.0 that has been converted to dual webers by a previous owner and the throtle pedal is very stiff to push. I fixed the pedal linkage so everything was free moving in the pedal. I made sure the cable wasn't wrapped around the clutch cable but it is still hard to push the pedal. Is there some other notorious place that the cable can catch? How does the cable remove from the firewall? I want to take it out and try to lube it but I am having trouble removing it.
